THE 6th INTERNATIONAL AUDIOVISUAL ANTHROPOLOGY FILM FESTIVAL “DAYS OF ETHNOGRAPHIC CINEMA”, SEPTEMBER 27 — OCTOBER 2, 2016, MOSCOW

Abstract: The review is focused on the most important research issues developed by the International audiovisual anthropology film festival “Days of Ethnographic Cinema” between 2010–2016, among which are emphasized the anthropology of work and the role and place of tradition in the modern world. The festival is a major academic and educational project. It is also an international communication platform, allowing Russian and international scholars to interact on a regular basis, and to exchange the latest results of their projects in the field of social (cultural) anthropology and related disciplines. Participants and spectators paid special attention to the specifics of audiovisual tools used by anthropologists, audiovisual languages as such, and those areas of sociocultural reality that the study of these languages make possible.
