Abstract: This review is an attempt to analyze the Russian translation of the latest book of Aleida Assmann Das neue Unbehagen an der Erinnerungs kultur: Eine Intervention. It presents the short overview of each chapter and formulates the relevance of the research topic in the framework of contemporary politics of memory and commemorative culture. The main message of the book is the idea of gradual pluralization and transnationalization of the memory, which is directly related to the future of the memorial culture. Also, the review presents a critique of the inferiority of the Assmann approach in the study of migration memory.
