Abstract: The review is devoted to the Russian translation of the English_language collection of articles united by the topic of children’s toys. The authors of the reviewed book show different approaches to the question of how social researchers can study toys. Not all approaches are equally successful, but the publication of a book on children’s everyday life in Russian can only be welcomed. Unfortunately, children's voices are not very loud in the book dedicated to children’s toys, but the attempts to give voice to children presented in some articles are very interesting.
